Justin Adams
Co-Founder and Managing Director

Justin is a climate and biodiversity leader with over 25 years of experience across the private sector, finance, and civil society, including roles as Partner at Just Climate and Executive Director of the Tropical Forest Alliance. Recognised with an OBE for his contributions at COP26, Justin believes a radically new approach is essential. He founded Ostara with a conviction in our collective ability to innovate and dream ‘unreasonably large dreams,’ reimagining a very different future to address the increasingly complex challenges we face today.

Nicole Schwab
Co-Founder and Managing Director

Nicole is a policy leader, systems change expert and author with more than 20 years experience in building communities and facilitating processes for collective action. Prior to joining Ostara, she co-headed the Nature Pillar at the World Economic Forum and advised forest and ocean conservation non-profits including National Geographic Society’s Campaign for Nature. She chairs the Forum of Young Global Leaders, and co-founded EDGE Certified Foundation — a business certification standard for gender equality in the workplace. 

Colin le Duc
Non-Executive Director

Colin is a Founding Partner of Generation Investment Management, a dedicated sustainable investment firm launched in 2004 by seven partners, including Former Vice President Al Gore as Chairman and David Blood as Senior Partner. Colin is Head of Generation’s San Francisco Office. Generation manages approximately $45 billion on behalf of primarily institutional investors to achieve their vision of a sustainable world. He also serves as Vice-Chair of Generation’s Just Climate business and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Ocean Conservancy.

Alice Leguay
Senior Fellow

Alice is leading the development of place-based regenerative finance architectures, prototyping how capital can flow differently when governance, incentives, and worldviews are reimagined. She brings over 20 years of experience in finance and technology, from Morgan Stanley’s bond markets to fintech venture building. For the past eight years, Alice has grown regenerative ventures and corporate nature programmes across agriculture, food, cosmetics, and construction. She also serves as Strategy Advisor for the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance.

Alison Powell
Executive and Comms Associate

Alison is a community leader with a wealth of experience in executive support, project management, team-building, and non-profit administration. She worked for many years as a program manager at Google before pivoting back to grassroots projects, co-founding Rizoma Cooperative in Lisbon and supporting Indigenous and community-lead conservation work at the ICCA Consortium. She was born and raised in Seattle, now deeply rooted in Lisbon, Portugal with her partner, two young sons, and a close-knit community.

Daniel Vennard
Senior Fellow

Daniel is leading work on market shaping for sustainable technology. Previously, he was Chief Sustainability Officer at Syngenta, a $35 billion agricultural innovation company. At the World Resources Institute, he founded the organization’s behavioural research lab, and also launched Cool Food, a program that shifts billions of meals a year towards sustainable diets. Earlier in his career, Daniel held senior roles at Procter & Gamble and Mars Inc., where he drove global brand purpose campaigns for billion-dollar brands.

Jenny McInnes
Senior Fellow

Jenny is a senior climate and finance leader, with nearly two decades experience of running major international climate policy, programmes, partnerships and teams in the public and private sectors. As HSBC’s Group Head Sustainability Policy and Partnerships, she led the bank’s Net Zero Policies, and set up strategic partnerships to drive climate, nature and just transition objectives across the industry. Previously a UK senior civil servant, Jenny led an extensive international climate finance portfolio delivering on the ground impacts in emerging economies.

Josie Major

Josie Major
Project Coordinator

Josie is a project coordinator and regenerative practitioner originally from Wellington, New Zealand. She brings operational experience from roles in government departments, nonprofits and social enterprises — delivering projects from national commemorations to youth-led panels and community-centred visitor experiences. Trained in regenerative development, Josie also brings experience in embedding living systems principles into ways of working, in addition to her work as a course designer, workshop facilitator and storyteller.

Noah Walton
Operations and Finance Lead

Noah is an experienced leader in operations and finance for non-profits and social enterprises, playing a critical role in establishing the first Plum Village practice centre in the UK, and formerly Head of Operations and Finance for Migrateful. He was previously a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer at the international design firm Arup. Outside of Ostara, Noah is developing Eco Soul project — a pioneering non-profit social change hub and youth hostel. He is also a meditator, keen swimmer, around-town cyclist and enjoys yoga!

Sarah Conte
Project Manager

Sarah has worked as a project manager, senior consultant and partner in the renewable energy sector for world-leading investors and lenders for nine years. Following a transformative experience at the Schumacher College, she developed a passion for the human-nature relationship and regenerative paradigm. She studied eco-community design and founded The Avalonia Project, missioned to rekindle the relationship between humans and nature to address both ecological and wellbeing crises with a practical, poetic and holistic approach.

Zoë Kelland
Communications Lead

As a communications and campaigns consultant, Zoë brings a decade of experience driving change on poverty, inequality, and climate change. From growing a movement of young people fighting for child health as Director of Movement at Bite Back 2030, to leading pop-meets-policy campaigns for the SDGs as Digital Campaigns Director at Global Citizen — Zoë’s work has been recognised with awards from Third Sector, Communiqué, Bond, D&AD and more. When she’s not hustling for change, you’ll find Zoë out hiking, cycling or kayaking in the wild.
